One person died after being pulled out to sea by surging waves, and the NOAA National Hurricane Center issued a Tropical Storm Watch for coastal areas including San Diego, the only second time such a warning has occurred since Tropical Storm Hilary in 2023. The storm is forecast to bring 2-3 inches of rain, drop regional temperatures by over 20 degrees, and cause further flooding on the Balboa Peninsula due to an ongoing Kelvin wave.
