A 10 minute recording in which Ryan Hayward admits to driving a vehicle at journalist Joe Sokol was provided to the Department of Justice on October 1. In the call, obtained by Steve Rob of The Maine Wire, Hayward confessed that he targeted Sokol because of the reporter's political views and stated that he was familiar with Sokol's content before the attack.
