Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian traveled to the Russian capital to meet with Vladimir Putin on Tuesday to discuss energy security and regional cooperation. During talks held on the sidelines of the 8th Gas Exporting Countries Forum, Putin noted that bilateral trade between the two nations grew 10.4% during the first eight months of 2026. Pezeshkian told the Russian leader that regional problems and security issues in the Middle East could be resolved independently of the United States.
