The disturbances follow a September 21 rule prohibiting school clothing that conflicts with the "principle of secularism," which has been used to bar hijab wearing students and teachers from classrooms since early October. Authorities have arrested 37 people as NetBlocks confirmed restrictions on Instagram, TikTok and X across multiple internet providers. In acts of defiance, male students broke down school gates to admit female classmates and some teachers relocated their lessons outdoors.
