Payy has frozen all deposits, withdrawals, transfers and card payments while it carries out an investigation according to incident response guidelines. Security researchers from PeckShield and Exvulsec reported that the hacker swapped the stolen funds for 683.38 ETH and used compromised prover and validator keys to forge the withdrawal batch.

The blockchain protocol's operational activities have come to a standstill as the company attempts to secure its network following a theft on Sept. 24. An attacker exploited the RollupV1 bridge on Ethereum at 4:21 UTC, stealing approximately $1.83 million in USDC, which accounted for about 95% of the bridge's available supply of that stablecoin.
