Fox Corporation has finished its takeover of Roku, closing the deal in just 144 days. The merger was finalized significantly faster than analysts anticipated, with some projections suggesting regulatory hurdles would have delayed the closing until 2027.
The $22B transaction expands Fox’s streaming and advertising reach to more than 100 million households and is projected to yield $400 million in cost savings within two years. As part of the agreement, Roku will be delisted from Nasdaq, and former Roku CEO Anthony Wood will join Fox’s board to co-chair a new unit that includes Roku, Tubi, and Fox One.
