Bessemer Launches AI 100 of Private Firms After 10 Year Software Index

Bessemer Venture Partners and Newcomer Media are establishing a tracking list for the most prominent non-public ventures in the artificial intelligence sector. The initiative, called the AI 100, will rank 100 firms building generative models, robotics, or the underlying infrastructure that supports AI, regardless of the amount of capital they have raised. Nominations for the inaugural ranking are open through Oct. 15, 2026.

The new project follows a 10 year tenure of the Cloud 100, which previously tracked the most successful general software companies. Bessemer will unveil the final AI 100 selections on Nov. 12 at the Cerebral Valley AI Summit.
