Luckey disputed ABC’s description of 1789 Capital, where Donald Trump Jr. is a partner, as holding a major stake in Anduril. He said the firm invested $50 million, representing about one-thousandth of the company. He also rejected the report’s contract total, saying, "Most of that amount is in hypothetical contract ceilings," which exceed what the government or contractors anticipate transacting.
Anduril’s latest agreement includes a Navy contract worth up to $2.9 billion, with payments tied to production results, alongside $3.7 billion of the company’s own investment in a Maryland submarine components facility. Congressional Democrats have sought a Pentagon inspector general investigation into potential conflicts involving companies backed by the Trump brothers. A spokesperson for the brothers denied wrongdoing and said they do not participate in government procurement decisions.
