The grocery giant is restructuring its organizational hierarchy to increase productivity and speed up business decisions. CEO Greg Foran notified staff in a memo that the company will cut more than 1/3 of its corporate headcount, totaling roughly 3,000 roles, over the next 3 years to make the business leaner and more competitive. Kroger also plans to increasingly adopt artificial intelligence to streamline operations and reduce the need for back-office staff.
