Philadelphia Charges Eric Lewis With Murder of Officer Shane Seiber

The ambush occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on October 10 along the 100 block of North 52nd Street as officers from the 19th District responded to reports of an armed man on a porch. Officer Shane Seiber, a 10 year veteran and father of two, died after being shot three times; his 33 year old partner survived 12 gunshots and is in stable condition. A SWAT team apprehended Lewis, a city Water Department employee, while he was hiding in a tree, recovering three firearms at the scene.
