An Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent shot a Dominican national with ties to the Trinitarios gang during a targeted operation in the Bronx on Oct 8, the Department of Homeland Security said. The victim, who is in the U.S. illegally, has a conviction for grand larceny and multiple arrests for assault, robbery and weapons possession. He had been arrested by the NYPD on Dec 7, 2023, but was released shortly after due to sanctuary policies. The man was hospitalized with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
