These results expand upon a recent 'Joint Disruption Week' where the DOJ and FBI partnered with the UK's National Crime Agency, Meta, Google and OpenAI to target hubs in West Africa. That specific phase saw 28 arrests in Ghana and Nigeria, the rescue of 117 malnourished victims from a Ghanaian scam center and the removal of more than 3.7 million fraudulent accounts on Facebook and Instagram.
