The AI company reported $16.3B in revenue for the period ending June 30, 2026, in a registration statement filed with the SEC. While its operating loss for those six months was only $693M, a total net loss of $80.7B was recorded due to the fair value accounting of convertible notes held by Amazon. As Anthropic’s valuation climbed to $965B in May 2026, the company was required to book the increase in the value of those notes as a loss on its income statement.
Excluding the non-cash adjustments, Anthropic generated a $974M operating profit in the second quarter of 2026, its first ever, and posted $3.9B in cash from operations for the first half. Amazon’s total investment of about $13B in the startup is now valued at roughly $190B on its own books, though existing shareholders will face dilution once those notes convert into equity during the IPO.
