Iran Urges Regional Energy Network to End Market Competition

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian advocated for a coordinated system to produce and exchange oil, gas and electricity during a summit of Commonwealth of Independent States leaders in Turkmenistan. He argued on Friday that the region should function as a shared energy network to foster stability and economic benefit rather than engaging in market competition to eliminate rivals.

Pezeshkian also addressed the Middle East war, stating that the conflict has reached a stalemate. He asserted that any peace negotiations would only be successful if they were conducted without threats or external pressure, while calling for genuine multilateralism to strengthen regional resilience.
