Survivors Accuse US Army of Safety Failures Before Drone Attack Kills 6

An Iranian drone struck a US Army operations center at Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, on March 1, killing six American soldiers and wounding dozens. Survivors and other personnel told the Associated Press that commanders were warned the base lacked adequate defenses against drones but decided to maintain the troop presence while the US launched Operation Epic Fury against Iran.

The Army finished an investigation into the attack in June but has not released its findings. Both the Pentagon and the Army declined to address the specific allegations in detail after the AP interviewed 13 soldiers, mostly officers, regarding leadership decisions and the medical care provided after the strike.
