The startup behind the Claude AI assistant is seeking to define its business opportunity through the total economic value of the worldwide professional workforce. In a registration statement filed this week, Anthropic measured its potential annual revenue opportunity at more than $40T, treating the estimated 2025 economic output of all global knowledge workers as its target market.
The company argues that frontier AI can increase the productivity of these workers, thereby expanding the existing value of that pool. This market sizing represents the broadest interpretation of a total addressable market to date and exceeds the $28.5T estimate previously associated with SpaceX.
