Polish journalist Jaroslaw Wolski apologized and deleted a post claiming bot activity around Germany’s Alternative for Germany party had fallen 56%. He said the graphic was generated by AI and cited findings that there had been no sustained, measurable decline in posts supporting the party. Zelenskyy had linked the strikes to reduced bot activity, saying: “There was less hate, less division, and fewer provocations.”
The attacks caused documented damage to Yandex’s services. Cloudflare measured a 99% drop in traffic from Yandex’s network compared with the previous week around 00:30 UTC on Oct. 11, when its Vladimir facility shut down. That followed strikes in Ryazan and Kaluga on Oct. 8 and 9. Ride-hailing, navigation and payment services suffered widespread disruptions, and the Kremlin said the Russian government was discussing the company’s problems.
