Officer Shane Seiber, a 10 year veteran and father of two, died on October 10 after being shot in an ambush in West Philadelphia. The suspect, 35 year old Eric Lewis, told investigators that he targeted the officers because they were white, according to an official arrest report. Lewis allegedly stated he would not have shot black officers and told a female officer of that race that he would have simply had a conversation with her if she had responded to the call.
