Google Cloud Restores UK Services After Power Cut Hit Revolut and HSBC

Network stability returned to dozens of online businesses in the UK on Tuesday afternoon as Google Cloud resolved an outage at its London data center. A power failure at the facility disrupted more than 35 Google Cloud products, causing system failures for organizations including HSBC, Halifax and Royal Mail.

Revolut experienced a disruption lasting more than 7 hours that affected millions of customers across the UK, Ireland, France and Spain. The fintech provider saw 30 of its services become partially unavailable, including stock trading, money transfers and cryptocurrency transactions. Revolut stated that all customer funds and personal data remained safe during the incident while technical teams worked on restoration.
