Roblox Shares Fall 3.8% on Google and Unity AI Gaming Launch

Unity has introduced Spark, a tool that enables creators to develop 3D and professional-level video games through conversational AI prompts without writing code. Users can start from templates or scratch to modify game physics, characters, and rules via a chat interface, with some game genres supporting multiplayer modes and leaderboards. This functionality complements Google's Playground experiment, which is currently available to US users aged 18 and older, though only subscribers on paid plans can generate new games.

Shares of Roblox fell 3.8% in pre-market trading, while Unity rose 5% following the announcement of the partnership. The collaboration allows AI-generated games to be distributed through Google Play, providing Unity with a wide distribution layer to challenge creator platforms like Roblox and AppLovin. The technology is powered by Google's Gemini, Nano Banana, and Lyria AI models.
