The Justice Department and FBI seized seven internet domains used by the Flax Typhoon hacking group, which also compromised about 20 Taiwanese universities and energy firms to exfiltrate sensitive data. These cyber tools utilized Mirai malware botnets to scan networks for vulnerabilities and spear phishing to grant remote access to attacker-controlled servers.
