Market makers can now convert existing share inventories into onchain tokens via Alpaca’s Instant Tokenization Network. This in-kind conversion allows approved firms to mint Ondo Stocks on the Ethereum and BNB Chain without the need for additional cash funding. These tokens, which track US stocks and ETFs, can be redeemed later to return the original shares to the institution's brokerage account.
