The FBI took a 35 year old engineer into custody after he allegedly installed a clandestine recording device in an executive conference room at OpenAI's San Francisco headquarters. Federal court documents identify the suspect as Abdulrahman Alfozan, a Saudi national who joined the company in July 2025, and state that the device was concealed in toilet paper and plugged into a television USB port on Sept. 28. Alfozan was identified through CCTV footage and has made his first court appearance.
