General Catalyst led a $15M seed round for Proximal at a $300M valuation. The year-old company provides synthetic coding data to frontier AI labs and enterprises to improve the performance of coding agents. With a team of 40 employees, the startup is now profitable and has grown its annualized revenue to more than $200M in its first 12 months of operation.

Proximal uses AI models to generate the coding tasks used to train other systems, which reduces the cost and effort of manual data curation. The firm is expanding its infrastructure beyond software engineering into mathematics, chip design, and targeted drug discovery. Other investors in the round include Chemistry, SV Angel, and David Luan.
