Planet Labs Schedules First German Built Satellite Launch on German Rocket Early Next Year

US satellite maker Planet Labs opened a manufacturing plant in Berlin to produce hardware for its European orbit operations. This site will build the company's first German built satellite, which will launch on a German built rocket in early 2027 to serve regional markets.

The expansion comes as military demand for the company's imaging services booms. The Berlin facility integrates the manufacturer's production cycle within Germany to scale the number of assets in its satellite constellation.
