Apple will use guardrails developed with Alibaba to ensure the Chinese government can approve updates to its artificial intelligence platform in mainland China. The release of Apple Intelligence is scheduled for December and will be delivered via the iOS 27.3 update, ending years of regulatory scrutiny. This rollout includes the same toolset that first debuted in the U.S. two years ago in 2024.
