The supplier of optical components aims to reach its first quarterly revenue total of $3B by the end of fiscal 2027, forecasting that the company’s total pro forma revenue for the year will grow by more than 60%. Coherent said it has already sold out its capacity for 2027 to meet the rise in AI datacenter connectivity demand, with some existing long-term agreements extending into 2030.
This growth target is supported by a new five-year supply contract worth $20B signed with a single customer for high-power lasers. The deal follows a first-quarter revenue of $2.37B and adjusted earnings of $2.09 per share, with datacenter and communications sales jumping 79% to $1.95B. For the second quarter, Coherent forecast revenue between $2.55B and $2.75B and adjusted earnings between $2.28 and $2.48 per share.
