Vanguard and NXP Open Sold Out 12 Inch Singapore Chip Fab

A joint venture between Vanguard International Semiconductor and NXP has established a new production hub in Singapore to manufacture legacy chips for the automotive and industrial sectors. The 12 inch fabrication plant is already sold out, prompting the partners to consider building a second facility next to the original site. Risk production begins in Q1 2027, with plans to ramp capacity to 44,000 WPM by 2029.

Vanguard, a smaller affiliate of TSMC, specializes in analog chips and power management. The new Singapore site will also assist TSMC in the production of interposers. The venture is expanding its footprint to address increasing market demand for legacy semiconductor components.
