Florida Court Clears AHCA of Misappropriation in Centene Settlement

A leaked Tallahassee grand jury report has been erased from the official record by order of a state appeals court. The First District Court of Appeal ordered the complete expungement of the presentment and ruled that the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) did not misappropriate funds as a matter of law in its 2024 pre-suit settlement with Centene.

Governor Ron DeSantis characterized the court's decision as a "judicial beat down" of political opponents and described the "Hope Florida" proceedings as a hoax. The administration maintained that the grand jury findings had been illegally leaked to the public and were driven by a political agenda.
