Reem Asaad Awad died Wednesday after an Israeli aerial attack hit her family's apartment in the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City around 4 a.m. The blast set the residential building on fire, and while the 33 year old mother was killed, her young daughter, Mariam Ghanim, was rescued from a smoke-filled room by neighbors and emergency workers. Ghanim, who was treated for burns at Al-Shifa Hospital, had already lost her father months before the strike.
