Lindt Ousts CEO Lechner After 2 Outlook Cuts

A downturn in European sales and disappointing profit forecasts prompted the Swiss confectioner to replace its chief executive with immediate effect on October 19. The board removed Adalbert Lechner from his post following two consecutive reductions in the company's financial targets and weak performance across its primary markets in Europe.

Former head of the company Dieter Weisskopf has returned to lead as interim chief executive officer. Weisskopf takes over to manage the leadership transition as the chocolatier seeks to stabilize operations and address the declining outlook that led to Lechner's departure.
