The owner of the Starlink satellite network has agreed to share low Earth orbit imagery in exchange for the government's most precise orbital telemetry. SpaceX struck a deal with the U.S. Space Force to obtain the Pentagon's most detailed classified space-tracking data to better model collision risks for its about 11,000 Starlink and Starshield satellites. In return, SpaceX is sharing data from Stargaze, a system of about 30,000 cameras that track objects in space; the fleet currently executes about 20,000 maneuvers daily, including about 1,000 to avoid crashes.
