These results build on a research collaboration between Anthropic and Harvard where Claude Mythos 5 outperformed established benchmarks on seven of eight quantum circuit design tasks. The model operated in a closed loop using the OpenEvolve tool to propose architectures and refine them based on an automated evaluator. This work included the first reversible implementation of the divsteps algorithm, which reduces the resources required for quantum applications in materials science and chemistry.
