Intel's Kiryat Gat Plant Explosion Kills One Person

Three workers suffered burns and were transported to hospitals after an explosion at Intel's semiconductor factory in the Rabin Industrial Park in Kiryat Gat. A man who had been listed in critical condition from the blast has since been pronounced dead, bringing the casualty count to four. Eight firefighting and rescue crews deployed to the scene to contain the blaze and thick black smoke that was visible across the region.

Emergency teams are currently managing a leak of nitrogen trifluoride, a hazardous material, and are investigating the cause of the incident. Shares of Intel fell 2.8% in pre-market trading following news of the explosion. The Israel Fire Chief has since confirmed that the situation at the plant is under control.
