Kazakhstan President Calls Putin Most Acceptable Leader for World

President Tokayev of Kazakhstan called for a freeze of hostilities on Ukrainian territory to facilitate diplomatic negotiations while speaking at the Federal Chancellery of Germany in Berlin. He stated that while an immediate stop to the war is unrealistic under current conditions, stopping the fighting is necessary to begin a peace process.

During the press conference, Tokayev described Vladimir Putin as an "outstanding statesman" and the most acceptable political figure to lead Russia for the benefit of Europe, Central Asia, and the world. Tokayev noted he maintains very good relations with Putin and believes the Russian leader possesses the essential qualities to manage a state with a complicated history and specific strategic goals.
