The top seeded player in women's tennis will not participate in the upcoming competition in Wuhan due to a physical ailment. This withdrawal comes immediately after Elena Rybakina was eliminated from the China Open in Beijing on Saturday, where she lost 3-6 6-4 6-3 in the second round.

The 27 year old Kazakhstan native entered the Beijing event as World No 1 for the first time following her victory at the US Open. Rybakina, a 3 time Grand Slam champion, suffered her first defeat at the top rank against unseeded Alina Charaeva, who is ranked 118th in the world.
