The EIA’s top-line figure for July recorded output at 13.948 million bpd, an increase of 104,000 bpd from June’s 13.844 million bpd. This reported growth was led by New Mexico, which added 49,000 bpd, and Texas, which added 36,000 bpd. While crude production in the lower 48 states is currently approaching previous record peaks, the underlying figures suggest a lower actual output than reported.
