The decision follows a $10 million gift from Oracle to address a financial emergency that threatened to halt the ensemble's operations.

The funds resolve a crisis that would have triggered staff furloughs on Oct. 18 and the cancellation of the 2026-27 season. Mark Tillinger, the CEO of Oracle who assumed the post last Tuesday, oversaw the donation to ensure the symphony and its personnel remain employed.
